Cooling Fan & Shroud Removal & Installation - 20L-23L

Engine Cooling - 2.8L/2.0L/2.3L - Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud—2.0L/2.3L Galaxy 2000.75 (04/2000-02/2006)
Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable(s). For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.

  1. Disconnect the hood latch release cable from the hood latch.

  1. Detach the battery junction box (BJB) from the radiator grille opening panel reinforcement.

  1. Remove the battery front side cover.

  1. Disconnect the cooling fan motor electrical connectors.
    • Detach the electrical connectors from the fan shroud.

  1. Detach the air conditioning line from the cooling fan shroud.

  1. Remove the cooling fan shroud left-hand retaining nut.

  1. Remove the cooling fan shroud right-hand retaining nut.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Remove the coolant distribution pipe retaining bolts and secure it to one side.

  1. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
