Removal
General Information
Parts which need removing: Front seat, seat cushion, rocker panel and B-Pillar trim, lock striker, door weatherstrip and safety belt.
Rocker Panel
Preliminary cut.
B-Pillar
Cut through B-Pillar using the body saw.
Mill out spot welds.
B-Pillar
Mill out spot welds from inside.
CAUTION:
Do not damage B-Pillar reinforcement. This cut is necessary, because the cut in the B-Pillar reinforcement must be offset.
B-Pillar
Preliminary cut.
Installation
CAUTION:
The seat belt anchorage must be welded to the new B-Pillar reinforcement before installing the B-pillar reinforcement.
Seat Belt Anchorage Reinforcement
Spot weld.
B-Pillar Reinforcement
Produce a continuous MIG weld seam.
Spot weld.
B-Pillar - Inner Panel
Spot weld.
B-Pillar Outer Panel
Produce a continuous MIG weld seam.
Spot weld.
Rocker Panel
Apply a support at cut edge and produce a continuous MIG weld seam.
Produce a continuous MIG weld seam.
Spot weld.
