Loosen the parking brake cable. | | -
CAUTION:If the dust cap is damaged during removal a new dust cap must be installed. Remove the dust cap. | | -
CAUTION:Use a socket to remove the wheel hub retaining nut to prevent damage. Remove the wheel hub retaining nut. | | -
Remove the wheel hub and brake drum assembly. | | -
CAUTION:Take care not to damage the wheel hub bore when removing the wheel hub seal. Remove the wheel hub seal. | | -
Using a suitable internal extractor, remove the inner bearing cup. | | -
Using a suitable internal extractor, remove the outer bearing cup. | | -
Thoroughly clean the wheel hub and brake drum assembly. | Installation | -
CAUTION:The tapered self-setting roller type rear bearings run in matched cups, (cups and bearings must be from the same supplier). CAUTION:The bearings are self-setting on assembly and therefore require no subsequent service adjustment. NOTE:When installing the new cups make sure that the cups abut their respective shoulders. Install the new bearing cups. | | -
NOTE:Grease the bearing before fitting. Install the new inner bearing. | | -
Install a new wheel hub seal. | | -
NOTE:Grease the bearing before installing. Install the new outer bearing. | | -
Install the wheel hub and brake drum assembly. | | -
CAUTION:Use a socket to install the wheel hub retaining nut to prevent damage. CAUTION:Once tightened, the wheel hub retaining nut must not be disturbed. If the torque needs to be checked the nut must be loosened by two full turns and re-tightened. NOTE:Rotate the wheel hub when tightening the wheel hub retaining nut. Install the wheel hub retaining nut. | | |
