Remove cambelt. For additional information, refer to Timing belt in this section. | | -
Detach the oil baffle. - Place bearing caps two and four to one side together with respective bearing shells.

CAUTION:Undo nuts turn by turn on bearing caps one, three and five. Remove camshaft. | | -
NOTE:Place to one side together. Remove valve tappets with adjusting shims. | Installation | -
Insert oil-coated valve tappets and adjusting shims. | | -
Turn back crankshaft until the elongated hole in the injection pump timing belt pulley is in the 11 o'clock position. | | -
Insert the camshaft. - Coat the bearing shells and journals with engine oil.

Tighten the camshaft bearing caps. - Coat marked faces of bearing cap one with sealant .
- Fit bearing caps one, three and five together with oil-coated bearing shells and screw on the nuts.
CAUTION:Tighten turn by turn. - Tighten nuts turn by turn in the specified sequence until final torque is reached.

Seal parting line between bearing cap and cylinder head on both sides by applying a thin bead of sealant. | | -
Check valve clearance and adjust if necessary. For additional information, refer to Valve clearance in this section. | | -
Fit bearing caps two and four as well as oil baffle. | | -
NOTE:Use camshaft bolt for fitting. Fit camshaft oil seal. | | -
