Removal
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Lay the cylinder head onto the workbench on a clean cover.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Place wooden blocks in the combustion chamber recesses in the cylinder head to hold the valves in place during removal.
    Remove the valves.
    1. Compress the valve springs.
    1. Remove the valve collets.
    • Remove the valve spring retainers and the valve springs.

  1. Remove the valve stem oil seals.
    1. Insert the special tools.
    1. Turn the special tool clockwise and pull it out.
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Lay all parts in order to one side.
    Remove the valve springs.
  1. Remove the valves and lay them in order to one side.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Follow the procedure recommended by the manufacturer of the grinding paste.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Install all parts in the same position as where they were removed from.
    Grind in the valves using grinding paste .
  1. Thoroughly clean all components of any sealer or grinding residue.
  1. Coat the valve stems with lubricant .

  1. Install the valve stem oil seals.
    • Cover the valve stem grooves with the oil seal installation sleeves.
    • Slide the valve stem oil seals onto the valve stems and take off the oil seal installation sleeves.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Check that the valve collets are properly seated.
    Install the valve springs.
    • Insert the valve springs and the valve spring retainers.
    1. Compress the valve springs.
    1. Install the valve collets.
  1. Repeat the installation steps on all other cylinders.
