Disassembly and Assembly Disassembly | -
Remove the head restraint(s). | | -
Remove the armrest (if equipped). - Release the retaining clips.
- Slide the retaining clips forwards.

Remove the backrest center hinge pin (if equipped). - Remove and discard the pin.

NOTE:The locking tang releases in the opposite direction for inner and outer head restraint guides. Remove the outer head restraint guides. - Using a suitable screwdriver, depress the locking tang.
- Pull the guide upwards.

Detach the backrest cover from the backrest. - Detach the retaining strip.

Detach the backrest cover from the backrest release button. | | -
Remove the safety belt webbing trim panel (if equipped). | | -
Detach the backrest cover from the underside of the armrest mounting bracket (if equipped). - Detach the retaining strip.

Detach the backrest cover from the armrest mounting (if equipped). - Roll the backrest cover inwards to access the retaining strips.
- Detach the retaining strips.

Remove the center head restraint guides (if equipped). - From the underside of the rear seat backrest, depress the locking tang.
- Slide the head restraint guides upwards through the backrest cover.

CAUTION:When detaching the backrest cover take care not to detach the webbing retainer. Detach the backrest cover from the backrest pad. - Roll the backrest cover inwards to access the pleating hog rings.
- Cut the hog rings.

Detach the backrest heater mat wiring harness from the backrest cover (if equipped). - Feed the backrest heater mat wiring harness through the backrest cover.

CAUTION:When removing the rear seat backrest cover take care not to detach the webbing retainer. Remove the rear seat backrest cover. - Feed the safety belt webbing through the backrest cover (if equipped).

Remove the backrest heater mat from the backrest pad (if equipped). | | -
Remove the rear seat backrest latch. For additional information, refer to Backrest Latch in this section. | Assembly | -
WARNING:If the safety belt webbing retracts further than the stop on the webbing, a new safety belt retractor must be installed. CAUTION:Make sure the webbing retainer is fitted at least 200 mm from the webbing stop towards the retractor. NOTE:Use hog ring pliers to close the hog rings. Do not use any other tool. The hog rings must be closed to overlap as illustrated. NOTE:Install a new backrest center hinge pin (if equipped). To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure. | | |
