Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Remove the right-hand halfshaft.
    Refer to: Front Halfshaft RH (205-04 Front Drive Halfshafts, Removal and Installation).

  1. Discard the constant velocity (CV) joint boot

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Note the position of the component before removal.
    Special Tool(s): 205-310
    General Equipment: Hydraulic press

Installation
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that this component is installed to the noted removal position.
    Special Tool(s): 205-080, 303-255
    General Equipment: Hydraulic press

  1.  
    • Fill the CV joint with grease.
    • Insert a small screwdriver under the boot seat to allow the air to escape.
    • Push on the tripode housing to stop, then pull it back 25 mm (x = 95 Nm).
    • Remove the srewdriver.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that a new inner constant velocity (CV) joint boot is installed.
    Special Tool(s): 204-169
  1. Install the right-hand halfshaft.
    Refer to: Front Halfshaft RH (205-04 Front Drive Halfshafts, Removal and Installation).
