General Procedures WARNING:When the engine and the engine oil are hot, they can badly burn. Don’t burn yourself with either. WARNING:A vehicle that is lifted but not securely supported on safety stands is dangerous. It can slip or fall, causing death or serious injury. Never work around or under a lifted vehicle if it is not securely supported on safety stands. WARNING:Continuous exposure with USED engine oil has caused skin cancer in laboratory mice. Protect your skin by washing with soap and water immediately after this work. | -
Position the vehicle on level ground. | | -
Remove the oil filler cap and the oil pan drain plug. | | -
Drain the oil into a container. | | -
Install the drain plug by using a new washer. - Tightening torque 29.4—41.2 N·m {3.00—4.20 kgf·m, 21.7—30.3 ft·lbf}.

Refill the engine oil with the specified type and amount of engine oil. | | -
Refit the oil filler cap. | | -
Run the engine and inspect for oil leakage. | | -

Oil capacity (approx. quantity). - Oil replacement: 6.8 {7.2 US qt, 6.0 lmp qt}.
- Oil and oil filter replacement: 7.0 {7.4 US qt, 6.2 lmp qt}.
- Total (dry engine): 8.0 {8.5 US qt, 7.0 lmp qt}.
