Removal

  1. Refer to: Getriebe (307-01 Automatikgetriebe - Fahrzeuge ausgestattet mit 6-Gang Automatikgetriebe (AWF21), Removal and Installation).

  1. Check the mating face of the torque converter for damage.

  1. Special Tool(s): 205-078

Installation
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:New crankshaft rear seal carriers are supplied with an alignment sleeve which must be removed after installation.
    CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that the specified installation depth is achieved.
    X = 0mm +/- 0.2mm
    Special Tool(s): 308-095

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Take extra care not to damage the seal.
    Coat the mating face of the torque converter with oil.
    Material: Automatic Transmission Fluid

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that the specified installation depth is achieved.
    X = greater than 34.5mm
    Special Tool(s): 307-300, 307-300-02, 307-300-03
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Ensure the torque converter remains with the transmission.
    Refer to: Getriebe (307-01 Automatikgetriebe - Fahrzeuge ausgestattet mit 6-Gang Automatikgetriebe (AWF21), Removal and Installation).
