Diagnosis and Testing

Refer to Wiring Diagrams Section 419-01B, for schematic and connector information.

Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS)

Inspection and Verification

  1. Verify the customer concern.
  1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.

  • Use of a non-encoded PATS ignition key
  • More than one PATS key in close proximity of the PATS transceiver

  • Fuse(s)
  • Wiring harness
  • Electrical connector(s)
  • Relay(s)
  • CJB

  1. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
  1. If the cause is not visually evident, refer to the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index.

9D1796 Anti-theft alarm horn with integral battery internal failure Anti-theft alarm horn with integral battery INSTALL a new anti-theft alarm horn with integral battery.
REFER to: Anti-Theft Alarm Horn with Integral Battery (419-01A Anti-Theft - Active, Removal and Installation).
TEST the system for normal operation.
9D1700 Microphone internal inclination sensor failure Anti-theft alarm horn with integral battery INSTALL a new anti-theft alarm horn with integral battery.
REFER to: Anti-Theft Alarm Horn with Integral Battery (419-01A Anti-Theft - Active, Removal and Installation).
TEST the system for normal operation.
90A512 Anti-theft alarm horn with integral battery circuit short to battery Anti-theft alarm horn with integral battery or wiring harness REFER to the WDS. Select the PATS test and follow the instructions on screen.
90A514 Anti-theft alarm horn with integral battery circuit short to ground or open Anti-theft alarm horn with integral battery or wiring harness REFER to the WDS. Select the PATS test and follow the instructions on screen.
90D800 Number of keys programmed below minimum Incorrect number of keys programmed or PATS encoded ignition key REFER to the WDS. Select the PATS test and follow the instructions on screen.
90D781 Partial key read of PATS key PATS encoded ignition key and PATS transceiver REFER to the WDS. Select the PATS test and follow the instructions on screen.
90D705 PATS key programming failure PATS encoded ignition key and PATS transceiver REFER to the WDS. Select the PATS test and follow the instructions on screen.
90D794 PATS key unexpected operation PATS encoded ignition key and PATS transceiver REFER to the WDS. Select the PATS test and follow the instructions on screen.
90D594 PATS transceiver antenna failure PATS transceiver INSTALL a new PATS transceiver.

90D751 PATS key not programmed PATS encoded ignition key and PATS transceiver REFER to the WDS. Select the PATS test and follow the instructions on screen.
90D787 PATS key missing message PATS transceiver data not received CHECK the ignition key for damage and compatibility. REFER to the WDS. Select the PATS test and follow the instructions on screen.
  1. If the cause is not visually evident, verify the symptom and refer to the WDS to diagnose the system.
