23 ‐ 027ARemover, fuel pipe

WARNING:

This procedure involves fuel handling. Be prepared for fuel spillage at all times and always observe fuel handling precautions.
Remove
1. Remove the fuel pump fuse and crank the engine to depressurise the fuel system.
2. Refit the fuel pump fuse.

CAUTION:

Disconnect the battery negative lead.
3. Disconnect the intake hoses from the throttle body (two clips).

4. Disconnect the accelerator linkage from the throttle body (one clip).

5. Detach the accelerator cable bracket from the plenum chamber (two bolts).

6. Disconnect the crankcase vent pipe from the plenum chamber.

7. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the throttle body.

8. Disconnect the vacuum pipe from the fuel pressure regulator.

9. Disconnect the vacuum pipe and brake servo pipe from the plenum chamber.

10. Disconnect the idle air control valve, engine coolant temperature sensor and throttle position sensor multiplugs.

11. Disconnect the intake air temperature sensor multiplug.

12. Remove the plenum chamber (six bolts).

13. Disconnect the six fuel injector multiplugs.

14. Disconnect the fuel supply pipe (one union).

15. Remove the fuel return pipe safety collar.

16. Disconnect the fuel return pipe from the fuel pressure regulator.

17. Remove the fuel rail (three bolts).

18. Remove the six fuel injectors.
Install
19. Refit the components in reverse order.
• Renew the fuel injector upper and lower O ‐ ring seals.
• Lubricate the fuel injector O ‐ ring seals with clean engine oil to aid installation.

CAUTION:

Carefully clean the gasket surfaces of the plenum chamber and fuel rail before refitting.
20. Renew the plenum chamber and fuel rail gaskets
