Parking Brake and Actuation - Parking Brake Front Cable Transit 2006.5 (04/2006-)
Removal and Installation

Removal

All vehicles
  1. Release the parking brake.

  1. Remove the parking brake control boot.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
    For additional information, refer to: Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

  1. Loosen the parking brake cable adjustment nut.
  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1. Detach the front parking brake cable from the parking brake control.

  1. Detach the front parking brake cable from the parking brake control bracket.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.

Vehicles with rear disc brakes
  1. Detach the front parking brake cable from the parking brake intermediate rod.
Vehicles with rear drum brakes
  1. Detach the intermediate parking brake cable from the retainer.

  1. Detach the front parking brake cable from the retaining bracket.
All vehicles
  1. Remove the front parking brake cable.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Adjust the parking brake. For additional information, refer to: (206-05A Parking Brake and Actuation)
