Shift the transaxle into first gear. | | -
Raise the vehicle. For additional information, refer to: Anheben mit Hebebühne (100-02 Fahrzeug anheben, Description and Operation). | | -
NOTE:Mark the installation position of the driveshaft flange on the transmission output shaft flange. Detach the driveshaft from the transmission output shaft flange and slide it to one side. | | -
Unscrew and remove the bolts from the front driveshaft center bearing. | | -
Tie up the driveshaft to one side. | | -
Detach the output shaft flange. | | -
Remove the output shaft oil seal using the special tool. - Discard the output shaft oil seal.

CAUTION:Use a new output shaft oil seal. Install the output shaft oil seal using the special tool. | | -
Attach the output shaft flange. - Tighten the output shaft flange bolt in three stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten the output shaft flange bolt to 210 Nm.
- Stage 2: Undo the output shaft flange bolt.
- Stage 3: Tighten the output shaft flange bolt to 180 Nm.

NOTE:Align the marking on the driveshaft flange with the marking on the transmission output shaft flange. NOTE:Install new bolts between the driveshaft and the transmission output shaft flange. NOTE:Do not fully tighten the bolts between the driveshaft and the transmission output shaft flange at this stage. Attach the driveshaft to the transmission output shaft flange. | | -
NOTE:Do not fully tighten the front driveshaft center bearing bolts at this stage. Screw in the front driveshaft center bearing bolts. | | -
Tighten the bolts between the driveshaft and the transmission output shaft flange. | | -
Tighten the front driveshaft center bearing bolts. | | -
Check the transmission fluid level. For additional information, refer to: Getriebeöl ablassen und einfüllen (Getriebe) (308-03A, General Procedures). | | |
