Drive Belt: Service and Repair
Serpentine Accessory Drive Belt - Removal
Serpentine Belt
3.0L DIESEL
CAUTION: Do not attempt to check belt tension with a belt tension gauge on vehicles equipped with an automatic belt tensioner.
1. Remove radiator fan and shroud See: Cooling System/Radiator Cooling Fan/Service and Repair/Radiator Fan - Removal.
2. Remove fan drive belt See: Serpentine Belt.
3. Using a suitable tool, rotate tensioner assembly (2) counterclockwise until tension has been relieved from accessory drive belt (1).
4. Remove accessory drive belt (1).

3.0L COOLING FAN SERPENTINE BELT
1. Remove the radiator fan and shroud assembly.
2. While using a suitable tool, rotate the crankshaft pulley clockwise (3).
3. While rotating the crankshaft, walk the fan drive belt (2) off the crankshaft pulley (3) and the fan pulley (1).
