Hyundai Sonata workshop manuals
Hyundai Sonata at a glance: 9 manuals, covering 1990 to 2006 models, with engines from 2.0 to 3.3 litres.
About the Sonata
The Sonata is Hyundai's mid-size saloon, made since 1985 and named after the musical term. The first generation was sold only in South Korea; the second, launched in 1988, was the first to be widely exported. From 2005 the Sonata was also built in the United States, until 2022.
What these manuals cover
- 1990–1992 (second generation): the 2.0 and 2.4-litre fours and the 3.0-litre V6.
- 1997 (third generation): the 3.0-litre V6.
- 1999–2004 (fourth generation): the 2.5-litre V6, then the 2.7-litre V6 from the 2002 update.
- 2006 (fifth generation): the 3.3-litre V6.
Tip: the 2001–2005 Kia Optima is a rebadged fourth-generation Sonata, so those manuals cover the same car.
