Brake Hose/Line: Service and Repair
Rear Brake Hose Replacement
CAUTION: Always use double-walled steel brake pipe when replacing brake pipes. The use of any other pipe is not recommended and may cause brake
system failure. Carefully route and retain replacement brake pipes. Always use the correct fasteners and the original location for replacement brake pipes.
Failure to properly route and retain brake pipes may cause damage to the brake pipes and brake system failure.
Brake pipes that run parallel to each other must maintain a 6 mm (.25 inch) clearance.
Rear Brake Hose Retainer
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Brake pipe fittings.
2.Retainer.
3. Bolt.
4. Brake hose.
Attaching Rear Brake Hose
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Brake hose.
Note:The hose must not be twisted.
2. Bolt.

Tighten bolt to 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
3. Retainer.
4. Brake pipe fittings.
^
Tighten pipe fittings to 29 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).
5. Bleed brakes. Refer to Hydraulic System Service and Repair.
NOTE: The hose must not be twisted or come in contact with any suspension components after installation.
