18. Remove the camshaft bolt.
19. Remove the camshaft sprocket and the timing chain.
20. Remove the camshaft retainer bolts.
NOTE: When removing the camshaft, do not damage the camshaft bearings.
21. Remove the camshaft.

Install three 5/16 X 18 bolts, four inches long, into the camshaft bolt holes. Use these bolts as a handle to help remove and install the camshaft.
NOTE: If a new camshaft is to be installed, replace the valve lifters. Add new engine oil and a new oil filter.
22. Remove the camshaft sprocket from the camshaft.
