Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle on a hoist.

2. Remove the bolts at the front of the three-way catalytic converter.
3. Unbolt the converter from the muffler.

4. Remove the converter to hanger attaching bolts.

5. Remove the converter from the front exhaust pipe.

CAUTION:  The three-way catalytic converter requires the use of unleaded fuel only. Using leaded fuel will damage the converter and other emission
system components.

INSTALLATION 

1. Install the new three-way catalytic converter onto the exhaust pipe.
2. Install the converter to the converter hanger.
3. Install a new gasket with the muffler.
