1. Axle into the vehicle using a hoist.
2. Vent hose to the axle housing.
3. U-bolts and anchor plates.
4. Nuts and washers.

Tighten:
Nuts to 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.).
5. Brake pipes to the backing plate.
6. Parking brake cables(s).
7. Brake pipes at the axle housing.

Bleed the brake system.
8. Propeller shaft.

Line up the previously made marks on the propeller shaft with the marks on the pinion flange.
9. Retainers and bolts to pinion flange.

Tighten:
Bolts to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
10. Shock absorbers to the anchor plates.
11. Washer and nuts.

Tighten:
Nuts to 84 Nm (62 ft. lbs.).
12. Rear drums, tires and wheels.
13. Refill axle housing. Add lubricant to a level within 9.5 mm (3/8 inch) of the filler hole.
