1998 Rodeo (UE) models equipped with air conditioning.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Condition:
The air conditioning compressor emits a medium-pitch sound (moan) during engine operation at up to 2,000 rpm. The sound is also audible during
deceleration.
Correction:
To correct this condition, install a Magnetic Clutch Assembly Service Kit (P/N 8-97219-706-0), using the procedure outlined in this bulletin.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Record any radio station presets and disconnect the battery (-).
2.
Remove the upper fan shroud. (Figure 1)

Be sure to keep all fan shroud retaining clips for later reinstallation.
