Remove the seven case housing bolts at the outer ring, Not the 5 inner bolts (Figure 2).

Lift the converter housing and oil pump assembly straight up. Set the assembly on the bench with the pump side up (Figure 3).
NOTE:
Do Not lift the Pump by the Turbine Shaft (Input); it's connected to the Overdrive Carrier that remains in the Transmission Housing.

Replace the case 0-ring and gasket (8-96017-189-0 0-ring & 8-96014-973-0 gasket) (Figure 4).
