In such cases there is a possibility that flange lock nuts could loosen, causing separation of the propeller shaft, rendering the vehicle inoperative.
WHAT WE WILL DO
To correct this condition your Isuzu dealer will inspect the transfer case flange nuts, and properly secure them if necessary. This service will be
performed for you at no charge.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
Please contact your Isuzu dealer as soon as possible to arrange a service date. Your dealer will need a few days notice and the Vehicle Identification
Number (VIN), as shown in top left hand corner of this letter, to coordinate parts delivery and service schedules. Instructions for making this correction
have been sent to your Isuzu dealer. The length of time required to perform this correction is more than 2 hours. Please ask your dealer if you wish to
know how much additional time will be needed to schedule and process your vehicle. Presentation of this letter to your dealer will assist in making the
necessary correction in the shortest possible time. Please have your dealer refer to Campaign Bulletin SB98-05-L003. To locate the Isuzu dealer nearest
you, or if you have any questions regarding this matter, please call the Isuzu Care Team Line at 1-800-643-4070 ext. 300.
Your Isuzu dealer is best equipped to obtain parts and provide service to ensure that your vehicle is corrected as promptly as possible. If you believe that

Service Procdure
SERVICE PROCEDURE
REMOVAL
1.
Lift the vehicle with a chassis/frame hoist. Shift the transmission into neutral and release the parking brake. This is to allow free movement to the
propeller shafts during the removal and installation procedure.

2.
Remove the protector plate from the transfer case.
3.
Apply alignment marks on the flanges of these coupling points:
