2. Disconnect the secondary air injection (AIR) control valve to exhaust manifold tube from the left-hand exhaust manifold.
3. NOTE: Engine shown removed for clarity.
Detach the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.

Remove and discard the retaining nuts and gasket.
4. NOTE: Engine shown removed for clarity.
Remove the right-hand exhaust manifold heat shield/gasket retaining bolt.
