Remove two (2) modulator-to-mounting bracket attachment bolts, located on the bottom of the hydraulic unit, (Figure 9). Carefully move the
remaining tube (Reference f) out of the adapter. Remove the modulator by tilting the front of it down and moving it forward.

Mount the bracket back in vise and remove the two (2) actuator mounting nuts.

Remove the actuator and reservoir assembly from the mounting studs on the bracket. Note the orientation of the tube remaining in the
actuator. Disconnect the actuator-to-modulator boost line from the actuator and install it to the new actuator, with the same orientation as
noted above. Tighten the fitting to 13.6 N-m (10 ft.lbs.).

Install the new actuator and reservoir assembly over the mounting studs by passing the actuator under the line remaining on the accumulator
block.
11.
Install the actuator mounting nuts and tighten to 36.6 N-m (27 ft.lbs.).
12.
Install the modulator and tube bundle to the assembly by angling the front down and moving rearward. Avoid excessive bending of the tubes.
13.
Install the two (2) modulator attachment bolts and tighten to 16.3 N-m (12 ft.lbs.).
14.
Connect modulator return hose to bottom of reservoir and tighten clamp to 1.1 N-m (10 in.lbs.).
15.
Install the proportioning valve and tube assembly by reversing the removal procedure.
16.
Connect the five (5) lines which were disconnected previously. Hand start all of the tube nuts prior to tightening. Tighten the fittings to 13.6
N-m (10 ft.lbs.). Do not over-tighten as the casting threads may strip.
17.
Clip the tubes to the front of the actuator.
Hydraulic Unit Installation:
1.
Place flange gasket on hydraulic unit. Replace if damaged. If gasket is stuck to dash panel do not remove.
2.
Place the hydraulic unit in the vehicle with the inboard side of the unit tilted up as during removal.
3.
Connect the ECU harness to the connector on the modulator. Do not over-tighten the connector bolt.
4.
Position the hydraulic unit in the dash panel. Be sure the studs are seated in the dash panel holes.
