Wagoneer L4-150 2.5L VIN E TBI (1990)
Service Procedure
Note:
The following steps apply when replacing the high pressure hose in conjunction with the Recall # 305T service on involved 1990 models. For
complete Recall # 305T service requirements, refer to the Recall # 305T dealer notification letter of February, 1991. Proceed with high pressure
hose replacement as follows:
1.
When disconnecting the high pressure hose end fitting from the accumulator block during the Recall # 305T service procedure, also disconnect the
other hose end fitting from the booster pump.
2.
Remove the high pressure hose from the vehicle when removing the low pressure hose during the # 305T service.
3.
Install the supplied high pressure hose, routing it along the low pressure tube
(installed during the # 305T service) across the dash panel.
Note:
When installing the hose fitting at the booster pump, loosen the jam nut on the pump elbow fitting. Rotate the elbow counter-clockwise
(toward the dash panel) so that the high pressure hose is routed between the dash and the evaporative canister -- then tighten the jam nut to 62
in.lbs. (7 N-m).
4.
Tighten the high pressure hose end fittings to 62 in.lbs. (7 N-m).
5.
Tie wrap the high pressure hose to the low pressure tube in two places near the center of the dash panel after hose installation is completed.
