Apply a suitable sealer to timing case cover gasket and install onto cylinder block.

Cut end tabs off of replacement oil pan gasket corresponding to pieces cut from original gasket. Using a suitable sealer install cut pieces onto oil
pan.

Coat oil pan seal end tabs with a suitable sealer and install seal onto timing case cover.

Install timing case cover onto engine. Position timing case cover alignment tool and seal installer J-22248 into crankshaft opening of case cover as
shown in Fig. 9.
13.
Install case cover to cylinder block bolts and oil pan to case cover bolts. Torque bolts to 5 ft. lbs. Torque oil pan to case cover bolts to 11 ft. lbs.
14.
Remove case cover aligning tool and position oil seal onto tool with seal lip facing outward. Apply a suitable sealer to outer diameter to seal.
15.
Insert tool screw No. J-9163 into seal tool. Tighten tool nut until tool contacts timing case cover, Fig. 10.
16.
Remove tool and apply clean engine oil to seal lip.
