Sportage 4WD 2Dr L4-2.0L (2002)
1. For wheel end, install the cage on the inner ring and turn about 30 degrees with respect to the inner ring.
2. Fit the ball bearings through the cage into the ball grooves of the inner ring.
3. Apply yellow joint grease to the cage, inner ring, and ball bearings.
4. Align reference installation marks and install a new snap and stopper ring.
5. Install boot with a new boot clamp:
a. Using pliers, fold boot clamp.
b. Bend the clamp clips to lock clamp in place.
Notice: Always use new clamps and install clamp crimp over in opposite direction of halfshaft forward rotation.
6. Using pliers, install new clip onto differential halfshaft end groove.
Installation
1. Align the halfshaft-differential assembly reference marks and insert the halfshaft into differential housing.
2. Tighten the four upper drop link lock nuts.
3. Tighten the lower drop lock nut.
Notice: After the halfshafts are installed in the differential and the drop link is tightened, refer to "Steering Knuckle, " "Wheel Bearing" and "
Wheel Hub (Locking)" to complete installation.
