Brake warning lamp
A black/white wire connects the brake warning lamp in the instrument pack (C233-13) to the passenger compartment fuse box (C589-10). Operation of the brake warning lamp is controlled by an earth from the CCU (Australia only), the handbrake switch or the brake fluid level switch:
- When the ignition switch is set to position II (on), the CCU (C593-L) connects the warning lamp to earth (not shown) for approximately 5 seconds to perform a lamp check.
- While the handbrake is on, the warning lamp is connected to earth through the switch fixings, via the black/white wire from the passenger compartment fuse box (C580-13) to the handbrake switch (C091-1).
- If the level in the brake fluid reservoir decreases sufficient to close the brake fluid level switch, the warning lamp is connected to earth through the black/white wire from the passenger compartment fuse box (C582-8) to the switch (C026-3), and the black wire from the switch (C026-1) to earth.
Engine oil pressure warning lamp
Operation of the engine oil pressure warning lamp is controlled by an earth from the oil pressure switch. White/brown wires connect the warning lamp in the instrument pack (C233-12) to the oil pressure switch (C187-1) via the passenger compartment fuse box (C589-5/C581-2). When engine oil pressure2 is below 0.20 to 0.58 bar (3.0 to 8.5 lbf.in ), contacts in the oil pressure switch are closed and the warning lamp is connected to earth through the switch housing.
