Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to

WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the
vehicle on safety stands.
Raise and support the vehicle.

Remove the transmission. For additional information, refer to
Transmission (44.20.01)

4 .
Flexplate alignment.
Rotate the crankshaft until number 1 cylinder is at TDC. The timing hole in the flexplate
will be horizontal as shown.
Using the special tool, lock the flexplate.
Remove the Torx bolt shown to reveal the timing notch.
Mark the position of the bolt hole with the notch in relation to the crankshaft.
