Oil Pan (12.60.44)  

Removal

1 . 

  

Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to 

Specifications

 (Section 414-

00) 

2 . 

  

Remove the engine cover. For additional information, refer to 

Engine Cover - 2.7L Diesel (12.30.50)

 

(Section 501-05) 

3 . 

 

   WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the 

vehicle on safety stands. 

  Raise and support the vehicle. 

4 . 

  

Drain the engine oil. For additional information, refer to 

Engine Oil Draining and Filling (12.60.05)

 

(Section 303-01) 

5 . 

  Remove the oil temperature sensor. 

  

Disconnect the engine oil temperature sensor electrical connector. 

  

Remove and discard the O-ring seal. 

6 . 

  Disconnect the engine wiring harness. 

  

Release the engine wiring harness from the retaining bracket. 

7 . 

  Remove the oil pan. 

  

Remove the 14 oil pan bolts. 

  

Remove and discard the gasket.
