Removal

ENGINE IMMOBILIZER: CERTIFICATION ECU: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected  See: Testing and Inspection/Programming
and Relearning.

3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM SIDE COVER LH
4. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM SIDE COVER RH
5. REMOVE TOOL BOX BOARD
6. REMOVE TOOL BOX See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Trunk / Liftgate/Service and Repair/Removal
7. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Fuel Door/Fuel Door Release Actuator/Service and

9. REMOVE ROPE HOOK

10. REMOVE FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Fuel Door/Fuel Door Release

Actuator/Service and Repair/Removal

11. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM INNER COVER RH See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Trunk / Liftgate/Service

and Repair/Removal

12. REMOVE REAR ACCELERATION SENSOR (w/ AVS) See: Sensors and Switches/Sensors and Switches - Steering and Suspension/Sensors and

Switches - Suspension/Acceleration Sensor/Service and Repair/Rear Acceleration Sensor/Removal

13. REMOVE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)

(a) Disconnect the connectors.
(b) Remove the 2 bolt.
(c) Disengage the clamp and remove the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly).
