Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:  Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt
pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
5. REMOVE V-BANK COVER
6. DISCONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE
7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE
8. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

a. Detach the 3 wire harness clamps and disconnect the noise filter connector.
b. Disconnect the 6 ignition coil connectors.

c. Remove the 6 bolts and the 6 ignition coils.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

a. Install the 6 ignition coils with the 6 bolts.

Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
