Introduction

The spare tire carrier may become damaged if an impact wrench or any other type of power tool is used to raise or lower the spare tire. The Owner's
Manual, as well as a label near the drive nut, warns against the usage of an impact wrench or other power tools.

Applicable Vehicles

1999 - 2006 model year LX 470 vehicles.

2004 - 2006 model year RX 330 vehicles.

Operation Procedure

Refer to the vehicle's Owner's Manual for vehicle specific instructions.

1.

Locate the drive nut for the spare tire carrier. Refer to the vehicle's Owner's Manual for specific location.

2.

Using the hub nut box wrench from the vehicle's tire tool kit, lower the spare tire to the ground.

3.

Remove the tire from the carrier.

4.

Installation of the spare tire is the reverse of removal.
