Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair
Removal

AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL: STEERING KNUCKLE: REMOVAL

NOTICE:
When the brake pedal is first depressed after replacing the brake pads or pushing back the disc brake piston, DTC C1341, C1342,
C1343 and/or C1344 may be stored. As there is no malfunction, clear the DTC(s).

Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. REMOVE FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY

2. REMOVE FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY   See: Ball Joint/Service and Repair/Removal

3. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 WHEEL BEARING DUST DEFLECTOR   See: Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Front Axle Hub/Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB HOLE SNAP RING   See: Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Front Axle Hub/Removal

5. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Front Axle Hub/Removal

6. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE DUST COVER   See: Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Front Axle Hub/Removal

7. REMOVE STEERING KNUCKLE

(a) Place the bearing inner race (outside) on the front axle hub bearing.

(b) Using SST, a steel plate, V-blocks and a press, remove the front axle hub bearing from the steering knuckle.
