Mazda Motor Corporation has decided to send a replacement sheet for the owner's manual to the owners of certain 1986 Mazda 323 4-door Sedan and
5-door Hatchback models within the following VIN ranges.

The owner's manual for the 1986 Mazda 323 contains instructions for installing a child restraint system using the seat belt. The present instruction in the
owner's manual is applicable to the 3-door Hatchback model which is equipped with a single-retractor belt system, but additional instructions have been
found to be required for the 4-door and 5-door models which are equipped with separate retractors for lap and shoulder belts.
The attached letter will be sent to the subject owners of the 1986 323's around April 25, 1986 to let them know these additional instructions and request
them to replace the relevant page in their owner's manual.

According to our records, you are the proud owner of a 1986 Mazda 323 4-door sedan or a 5-door hatchback.
The owner's manual for the 1986 Mazda 323 contains instructions for installing a child restraint system on the front seat using the lap belt. These
instructions recommend the use of a locking clip to prevent the looseness of the lap belt from becoming loose.
Starting with the 1986 models, we have adopted a dual-retractor seat belt system for the 323 4-door and 5-door models, and now wish to provide
additional instructions regarding the use of the locking clip for such models. Accordingly we are enclosing a copy of the revised page of the owner's
manual for your reading and use.
