Oil Seal (Oil Pump) Replacement - AW6A-EL

OIL SEAL (OIL PUMP) REPLACEMENT [AW6A-EL]

1. Remove the transaxle.  See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Automatic Transaxle Removal/Installation - AW6A-EL

CAUTION:

-

The oil seal is easily damaged by the sharp edges of the torque converter splines. Do not let the splines contact the oil seal.

Do not drop the torque converter.

-

Do not pinch fingers.

2. Remove the torque converter.  See: Torque Converter/Service and Repair

CAUTION:

-

Do not to damage the bushing on the oil pump body.

3. Using a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver, remove the oil seal from the oil pump body.

4. Using the SST and a hammer, install the oil seal to the oil pump body.

5. Coat the lip of the oil seal with grease.

6. Install the torque converter.  See: Torque Converter/Service and Repair

7. Install the transaxle.  See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Automatic Transaxle Removal/Installation - AW6A-EL

8. Perform the "Mechanical System Test".  See: Transmission Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic
