Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the upper intake manifold.

3. Disconnect the engine control sensor wiring from the fuel injectors.
4. Relieve the fuel pressure.

5. Disconnect the fuel line.
6. Remove the fuel injection supply manifold. 

(1).Remove the four bolts.
(2).Remove the fuel rail and fuel injectors as assembly.

7. Disconnect the vacuum line.
8. Remove the fuel injectors.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION:  Never use silicone grease. It will clog the fuel injectors. Make sure the Injector end caps are clean and free of contamination.

NOTE:  Lubricate the fuel injectors prior to installation.

1. Install the fuel injectors.

(1).Lubricate the O-rings with SAE-5W30 engine oil.

2. Connect the vacuum line.

3. Install the fuel rail.
4. Connect the fuel line.
5. Connect the engine control sensor wiring to the fuel injectors.
6. Install the upper intake manifold.
7. Connect the battery ground cable.
