This bulletin supercedes 03-002/99. The previous APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINs range has been expanded and the PART(S)
INFORMATION has been modified.

APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINs
All 1998-2001 4WD B-Series.

DESCRIPTION

A bumping sensation and/or thump noise may occur on light acceleration and/or deceleration. This may be caused by the propeller shaft splines not
moving freely during suspension movement. A modified propeller shaft is available to address this concern.

Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1.

Verify customer concern.

2.

Locate the yellow balance mark on the existing propeller shaft.

If no marks are present on axle, use chalk/paint pen or equivalent and place an index mark on the axle in-line with the yellow mark on the drive
shaft.

If marks are present proceed to STEP 3.

3.

Remove existing driveshaft.

4.

Align the new propeller shaft's yellow mark to the previous balance mark on the axle.

5.

Install driveshaft.

Tightening torque:

87.5 - 118.5 Nm (65 - 87 ft-lb.)

6.

Verify repair.
