9. Using a CV Joint Puller and Special Service Tool (SST) 49 0223 630B (slide hammer), separate the drive axle shaft from the front axle housing.
10. Remove the drive axle shaft and joint from the front axle housing.
NOTE: Do not reuse the plastic stub shaft retainer. A new retainer must be installed each time the inboard CV joint stub shaft housing is installed
into the differential.
11. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
