Flex Plate: Service and Repair
FLYWHEEL REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
1. Remove the transmission.
2. Remove the clutch, if equipped.
3. Remove the flywheel.
1. Remove the bolts (1).
2. Remove the flywheel (2).
4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Flywheel Installation Note
Note:

Engine balancing is not required. Balance weights should not be installed on new flywheel.

Special bolts are used for installation. Do not use standard bolts.
1. If equipped with manual transmission, inspect pilot bearing. Install a new one as necessary.
2. Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern.
