Output Shaft: Service and Repair
OIL SEAL REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
2. Remove the propeller shaft.
NOTE: The shaft nut has a self-locking feature and must be replaced during installation.
3. Remove the shaft nut.
4. Remove the output shaft yoke washer and the rear output flange.
5. Remove the spacer.
6. Use the Special Service Tool (SST) 49 0223 630B and the Seal Remover to remove the rear oil seal.
7. Clean the seal mounting area of any foreign material.
