Timing Belt: Service and Repair

TIMING BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [KL]

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the right front wheel.
3. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
5. Start the engine and check the following:

Runout or contact of pulley or drive belt

Ignition timing. See: Tune-up and Engine Performance Checks/Ignition Timing  

6. Turn off the engine and check the drive belt deflection.
