Replace the original large and small 1-2 accumulator springs with the single replacement spring as shown. Refer to Workshop Manual.

3.

After accumulator spring replacement. follow the procedures listed below to confirm that the O-ring in accumulator stopper is not leaking.

A.

Set the parking brake firmly, then start the engine.

B.

Shift the transmission into SECOND at idle.

C.

Test the vehicle under these conditions for several minutes, then place transmission back into PARK and then check for ATF leakage at the
1-2 accumulator stopper. If leakage is found replace the stopper O-ring.

4.

Verify repair.
