Air Diverter Solenoid: Testing and Inspection
Switching Solenoid Valve

Solenoid Switching Valve

1.

Disconnect solenoid valve vacuum hoses.

2.

Blow through valve from port "A" and check that air flows from port "B."

3.

Unplug solenoid electrical connector and apply 12V and a ground to solenoid terminals.

4.

Blow through valve from port "A" and check that air now flows from air filter.

5.

If not as specified, replace solenoid valve.

Switching solenoid valve output voltage can be checked at ECU terminal 2O.  At idle, terminal voltage should be approximately 12V.  At half throttle,
voltage should be below 2.0V.
