Air Solenoid Valve: Testing and Inspection
Switching Solenoid Valve

Check vacuum signal as follows:

a. Warm engine to normal operating temperature and run at idle.
b. Connect tachometer to engine.
c. Disconnect vacuum hose between switching solenoid valve and air control valve at switching solenoid valve and place finger over port

d. Gradually increase engine speed and ensure air is sucked into port.

e. Disconnect electrical connector at throttle sensor Fig. 35.

Gradually increase engine speed and ensure air is not sucked into port when engine speed is greater than 1000-1200 RPM.
