Tribute 2WD L4-2.5L (2009)
Removal
CAUTION:During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning
gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan can cause engine failure.
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. See See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair/Lifting.
2. Remove the ignition coil-on-plugs. See - See: Powertrain Management/Ignition System/Ignition Coil/Service and Repair.
3. Disconnect the crankcase vent hose from the valve cover.
4. Remove the 4 engine cover studs.
5. Detach the 3 wire harness retainers from the valve cover stud bolts.
6. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
7. Disconnect the cylinder head temperature (CHT) sensor electrical connector.
8. Disconnect the Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) solenoid electrical connector.
