3. Slide the inboard front wheel driveshaft joint boot back and clean out the grease from the inboard front wheel driveshaft joint and inboard front
wheel driveshaft joint boot.
NOTE: If these procedures are being performed to replace a damaged front wheel driveshaft joint boot, inspect the grease for contamination by
rubbing the grease between two fingers. If there is any gritty feeling, disassemble, clean, and inspect the front wheel driveshaft joint. Service the
front wheel driveshaft joint as necessary. If the grease is not contaminated and the front wheel driveshaft joint has been operating satisfactorily,
replace only the front wheel driveshaft joint boot and add the required amount of the specified lubricant.
4. Slide off the outer race from the end of the halfshaft.
5. Remove the six ball bearings from the cage and clean them in solvent.
6. Use snap ring pliers to remove the snap ring from the end of the halfshaft.
7. Use 2-Jaw Puller D80L-1002-L, or equivalent, to remove the inner race.
8. Slide off the cage.
