PURPOSE
This Technical Service Bulletin describes how to replace the trunk release cable with the new adjustable type.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
1992 Diamantes built prior to August 19, 1991.
DESCRIPTION
On some 1992 Diamantes built prior to August 19, 1991, the non-adjustable type of trunk release cable may be slightly long, requiring the trunk release
handle to be pulled all the way up before the trunk latch will release. Diamantes built from August 19, 1991, have been fitted with an adjustable trunk
release cable. If you encounter this condition on Diamantes built prior to the modification date, install the later-design adjustable trunk release cable.

Installation Procedure
NOTE:
In addition to standard hand tools, obtain the following materials before proceeding with the installation procedure:
- Trunk Release Cable (Part Number MB626619)
- 1992 Diamante Service Manual, Volume 1

Observe the latch-side end of the new trunk release cable. It should contain three adjustment-fixing positions on the end cap. If it does not, obtain
the correct cable before proceeding.
