Install the end cap of the new cable in Position # 1 on the trunk latch side of the cable.

Continue installing the new cable, working in reverse order from Step 9.
Adjustment Procedure
1.
Operate the trunk release handle, making sure the trunk opens at the approximate middle of release handle travel.
2.
If the new cable is still out of adjustment, move the cable end cap (latch side) to Position # 2 or # 3.
