SRS Control Unit: Service and Repair
SRS Diagnosis Unit (SDU)

1. Disable airbag.
2. Remove ashtray, then floor console assembly.
3. Disconnect SDU harness connectors.
4. Remove SRS diagnosis unit attaching bolts, then SRS diagnosis unit.
5. Inspect SRS diagnosis unit as follows:

a. Check SRS diagnosis unit case and brackets for dents.
b. Check connectors and locks for damage and terminals for deformities.
c. Replace SRS diagnosis unit if cracks, deformation or rust is discovered.

6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Perform inspection procedure before installing SRS diagnosis unit.
b. With projection of unit placed against bracket securely install SRS diagnosis unit. The SRS may not activate properly if the SRS diagnosis unit

is not installed properly.

c. After connecting each harness connector securely and correctly, ensure to press down the lock lever of the SRS diagnosis unit.
